Policies & Voluntary Commitments

For our steps towards a sustainable future, UC Davis draws targets and inspiration from our own research and leadership, and from policies and voluntary commitments. We also meet federal and state regulations in many areas related to sustainability. The following lists provide the key university policies and standards that UC Davis follows, and voluntary commitments UC Davis has signed.

  • University of California Sustainable Practices Policy: Our main sustainability policy that guides all locations of the University of California. This is a living policy that is regularly updated, and includes the following sections:
    • Green Building Design
    • Clean Energy
    • Climate Protection
    • Sustainable Transportation
    • Sustainable Building and Laboratory Operations for Campuses
    • Zero Waste
    • Sustainable Procurement
    • Sustainable Food Services
    • Sustainable Water Systems
    • Sustainability at UC Health
    • General Sustainability Performance Assessment
